Team Rules

Our rules are quite simple,
so simple they all fall into one single idea- BE
RESPONSIBLE.
- 1. Reporting for the season in shape and ready to play is responsible.
- 2. Eating right and getting proper rest is responsible.
- 3. Being at practice on time is responsible.
- 4. Advising your coach of problems or conflicts in scheduling is
responsible.
- 5. Encouragement and support of fellow players is responsible.
- 6. Smoking, use of alcohol and/or drugs is NOT responsible.
- 7. Telling a teammate she is not a good player and should not be
on the team is NOT responsible.
- 8. Attempting to discuss your playing time with a coach while a
match is ongoing is NOT responsible.
- 9. Bringing a water bottle to a match filled with screwdriver (or
any other alcoholic beverage) mix is NOT responsible.
- 10. Skipping practice to go to an off-season basketball workout
is NOT responsible.
We do not want to overload
you with a long list of rules, you have enough of those already. But, we feel
strongly that if you live by this one rule
-BE RESPONSIBLE- that you will succeed in not breaking any others. Those
who are not responsible are going to find ways around the rules anyway. Sooner
or later their irresponsible behavior will catch up with them. You know what is
right and what is not. The decision to do what is right is solely up to you. This
will apply throughout your entire life. Whether you are a college student, a corporate
executive, a young wife and/or mother, or a high school soccer player, the results
you achieve will be determined by your application of this rule.
Substance Abuse
I do have one particular sidebar
policy. I have a ZERO
tolerance policy for alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse. There is no place in the
life of a successful athlete for drugs, tobacco or alcohol. If you cannot commit
yourself to abstinence from these items for the duration of your athletic years,
you should rethink your desire to be an athlete. These things can only hurt you!
